Our central service facility is located in Woodbridge, Virginia and our mobile service trucks are available to take technicians to your location. AFE's certified Emergency Vehicle Tecnicians have completed specialized courses sponsored by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and EVT Certification Commission Inc.

AFE was founded in 1968, and is still owned by Cliff Wilder and James "Pat" Griffin. In the beginning, because Cliff and Pat were full time firefighters for the District of Columbia Fire Department, the firm operated on a part-time basis. They mainly sold and serviced fire extinguishers.

In 1973, AFE became a full time business which steadily grew to include product lines such as Hahn Fire Apparatus, MSA breathing apparatus, Servus footwear, Akron Brass equipment and Globe protective clothing.

In 1975, AFE moved to its present location, which resulted in a wide expansion of services. Back then we only had seven full time employees, and today we're proud to boast that we have more than forty people working for this company, including many active and retired fire fighters. Our customers can rely on AFE's knowledge and experience to help solve their fire fighting needs.

Through the years more product lines have been added and, in 1979, we became the official area dealer for Emergency One, Inc. (E-ONE) fire apparatus.

Today our full range of services provides top-of-the-line aluminum and stainless steel fire rescue vehicles, a complete line of loose equipment and a comprehensive service center.
